For those that have a little more time, there’s something I’d like your help with. A friend of mine named Donna was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of last year. Her daughter set up a GoFundMe to help pay for the surgery, chemo, and her bills while she’s recovering for up to eight weeks.

I’ve known her and worked with her for years now and figured I should help in any way I can. Besides donating myself, I wanted to get as many eyes on this as possible. Now, I know people always say, “If each of you just donates a few dollars, we’d have the money we need…” but I understand that everyone has their own problems and even just a few dollars can be too much to some people. So if you want to donate yourself or if you can share the link to a wider audience, please do.

I was very hesitant to post anything about this, but everyone I’ve asked (other translators and people that barely know what I do on my site) said I should. People have been asking me to open donations for myself, but I feel like this would be a better use of your money. My mother had breast cancer years ago but had surgery and thankfully has had no recurrence since then. I was just in high school at that time and felt completely useless. So if there’s some way for me to help someone close to me now, I want to do whatever I can.
