The insects scheming around as if they’re actually the ones in power gets a bit old. Yes you can make that an entertaining plot setup, but then you can’t also act like they are master politicians that are extremely intelligent and notice everything.

It would be impossible for such a truly aware and intelligent politician to not realize how outgunned they are.

Overlord does this better. The stupid people are the ones that think AOG is weak, while a genius politician like Jircniv goes the exact opposite way and starts fearing plans everywhere and instantly recognizes the power difference.

This king, as well as Richard, make zero sense to me. And they’ve been alive way too long for me to consider it funny anymore. Their purpose for the story has already been served, Tanaka has no use for either of them, he needs to just murder them both and move on. What happened to the Magician? He’s obviously smarter and more aware.

In reply to Anonymous. When I read it in syosetu I remember that was the core argument of his refusal, she was even publicly disgraced for non being a virgin anymore, maybe in this version the author wanted to be less disruptive to not get into trouble with politically correct people.
