OP here, Lenovo has two lines of products: Business class products and Consumer products. If you buy any Lenovo Consumer product (ideapad anything, anything without “think” in its name, like thinkpad, thinkcentre) you’re in for a bad time. Their business class products are entirely different in terms of reliability and longevity, as they sell these in bulk to large corporations with multi-million dollar contracts. They don’t care about consumers, since they tend to chase low prices/”value” to a detrimental degree, and don’t really learn lessons regarding good and bad products, as a market.
So, “lenovo products suck” is half true, but you should have done your research before buying a non-business class lenovo (or any) product 🙂
